About Us!

The Loft was created by Drew + Katelyn, owners and photographers at Duskwood Photo Co.

Drew started dabbling in photography as a fun hobby in 2014. Those around him noticed he had an eye for it and before you know it he was being asked by friends and family members to take photos regularly. From local bands to small weddings and even taking our own engagement photos with a tripod, Drew’s hobby slowly turned into a full-fledged side gig.

Branching out into sports and event photography in addition to leading the media ministry at church, Drew found himself needing help and practically forced Katelyn into learning how to use a camera for assistance— turned out she loved it!

Katelyn is now an active partner in Duskwood Photo Co. who loves booking portraits, fresh 48, and couples sessions. By regularly assisting Drew as a second shooter, taking the lead on posing and coordinating client communications, these two have become quite the team!

As our passion has grown, we’ve needed a studio space on more than one occasion but found there weren’t any options nearby. A little luck and a lot a prayer led us to open a rentable photography studio right here in Nicholasville, KY to serve other photographers with the same need.
